Safe and compatible elements of the built environment are emphasized as is economic opportunity. **New State & Federal Mandates** After April 2010 the EPA is requiring all contractors doing renovation to homes constructed prior to 1978 to become certified in lead-paint safety, to show this certification when registering as a contractor, and to implement this new safety procedure during the project (Federal Mandate)
